Hi has anybody purchased the JK Campershop Cotton Sun Canopy ?

I am thinking of buying one, but I'm a little hesitant thinking that it might be useless in winds etc

Or would you recommend a drive away awning ? ( im going on a road trip for roughly 10 days, and might only spend a night or two on most places )

Thanks

I use a blue "builders Tarp" from B&Q. and a couple of poles from an old tent. Instead of the P strip I have sewn a nylon rope into a fold along one side. It works well as a canopy on the figure of 8/gutter or you can use it to do all the other variations of pitching a tarp to make a dining shelter/windbreak etc.

Up to you really. Drive away awnings are good when you stop for a while and want to increase your privacy. But you don't have to hook it up and can use it as a free standing store etc and they don't take long to erect or collapse. Sun canopies are also good but if you want to go out for a while you have to completely collapse it and pack it away.

For me, either a DAA or a vehicle mounted awning (ARB in our case) works best.

Anyone had experience of these?

Look quite similar to the ARB but like the idea of 3 metres long so it can go past / forward of side door.

We've got the small version of this...
Gelert tarp ( this one is xl). Works well and use fig 8 to fix to roof gutter.

Very keen prices on ARB awnings here

Having said that, the Halvor is made from heavier fabric and has an alloy perimiter frame.
