Camping Canopy

Hi all. Does any forum member know where I would be able to buy a camping canopy? They are free standing, supported by a pole either end and guidelines for the remainder. I seen one that a British camper had over here a few weeks ago and looked quite tidy. Never passed much heed about it until lately and now looking to buy one. Already have a Khyam but think this would be handier going into the warmer months and for one night stops. Go raibh maith agaibh.

I have a canopy, only used it once when there was no breeze. A friends blew down in the slightest of winds and trashed the nice new paint work on his bay, not a happy camper that day.

Done! Just ordered the Quechua from Decathlon.ie where including tax and postage it came in at just under 36€. Four to five day expected delivery time. Looking forward to it, thanks again all.

We have a canvas tarp that we use with a bell tent, I also added a strip of the 'P' shape plastic strip that fits into an 8 section gutter strip so it can be fitted to the van as a sun shade, never used it for that yet!!!

I use a blue "builders Tarp" from B&Q. and a couple of poles from an old tent. Instead of the P strip I have sewn a nylon rope into a fold along one side. It works well as a canopy on the figure of 8/gutter or you can use it to do all the other variations of pitching a tarp to make a dining shelter/windbreak etc.

I use one of these.

Works perfectly. Solid poles and pretty much windproof. Slight mod to attach to gutter rails.

Really pleased with it and only about £35.

Nice looking chris, a big improvement on a standard canopy. I will see how my one performs and might upgrade.

These are called Dining Shelters - Google it, and you will see lots.

Landed Thursday, never got the chance to erect it the weekend but will get pictures up when I do. Quality seems quite good as well.

Hey, I haven't done a thing with it yet. The summer here so far has been a complete wash out. It's has been raining with wind nearly every day since I received it. With only two weeks left in the Irish summer, it looks like it will be Autumn before I have the weather to try it out.
