Removing 1.6td rocker cover, what's the secret? NOW OFF

I'm in the process of sorting out an oil leak and think I've narrowed it down to the rocker/ cam cover gasket. A simple task I thought... I loosened off all the nuts for the studs and then tried to give it a wiggle to lift the cover out of place but no such luck . Does anybody know if I need to remove the turbo manifold in order to remove the cover? All I can think is that the cover is tucked underneath the manifold and stopping me from being able to lift it off. Alternatively anyone know where I can get a copy of the workshop manual for the 1.6td jx engine that may enlighten me on the subject. I've had a good look through previous forum post but can't find anything about removing the rocker cover.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated,
Thanks in advance,Tim

Try a light tap with a wooden or rubber mallet. Mine was the same, the previous owner had decided to seal the gasket with some "who knows what" paste..... Only the rocker cover nuts over bolts hold it in place.

thanks for the tip, I had tried that but hadn't had any joy, a little bit more "force" and I cracked it off. It seemed it also had been sealed on with Rtv silicone at some point! I now seem to have uncovered another problem however! the camshaft is rubbing on the back of the rocker cover due to excessive end float presumably from worn bearings. As usual a simple job turn into something more involved!
