Some of you may know this already and be able to confirm it's true.
My fuel pump. part number 0580463016, just packed up. So I have been looking for a new one only to be told by all the usual VW suppliers that they are as rare as Chickens teeth.
I contacted BOSCH agent Andrew Page LTD in Sheffield, 0114 244 6999 gave them the van details and they came up with a new part number 0580464070.
I asked then to cross reference the two numbers and they confirmed that they are the same pump. The old number was superceeded. The price was £59.20 + VAT of 10.36 = 69.56, The MANN filter WK830/7 was 10.40 inc vat.
I am going to fit the pump and filter over the weekend and if the van goes I will let you know. (A VW spares company in London wanted £150 for a second hand one.!)

I fitted the pump and filter on Friday and it works well. The only difference I can see is that the old one had spade terminals the new one has screw terminals for 4m and 5m ring connectors.

So - to all the VW spares suppliers who said that the pumps are as rare as hens teeth. Just try phoning Bosch the will be able to sort you out. And as for a quote of £150 second hand, In my opinion you are ripping us off and I have to assume your other prices are overinflated as well. :D

I would also have thought, if push came to shove, that you could use an after market electric fuel pump, and a pressure regulator, like the sort you'd use for webers, and use the regulator to get the correct pressure.

They've gone up to £67 plus vat but was expecting to pay about that for a second hand one!
