Hi,

Im going to change my HT leads - brickwerks stock two sets - one for din type connections , one for pin type connections.

My van is 84 so Im guessing I need the pin types? Please could someone double check by looking at the badly taken picture below.

Thanks in advance.

I changed my '83 leads and went for DIN. Pretty sure they looked like yours, but I'd wait for a second opinion before placing an order (esp. as '84 is on the crossover)..

It's ultimately dependant on your coil, if the coil is DIN then your lead set should be the same.
The picture shows pin type, which were fitted to later engines

Can't remember how I did it now but switched mine so I can just buy the regular Beetle/T2 dizzy cap. It was pin before. I just found more places stocked those. Pretty sure I managed to shove the pin in a din dizzy and it held fine.

Hi again,

Thanks for the replies. I've attached a picture of the lead from the dizzy to the coil

Looks the same as the others - PIN type?

Well the good news , is that I got the pin type lead set from Brickwerks and fitted them and the van starts up.

Just a quick question, the set from Simon Baxter has a metal shield around the spark plug end. Whilst Im guessing the shield is useful for helping stop interference on your radio - they dont seem to fit as tightly.

I *think* these are the spark plugs I've got:

Any tips on making them fit a bit better? New plugs for example?

Thanks in advance.

You should be able to screw the small end off the plug, leaving a narrow thread - this will fit better into the leads.

Bit lazy but here's an image in this random thread - http://www.onecamonly.com/threads/spark ... w-cop.504/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
