Rear 3 point seat belt locking on slope

I’ve just fitted a new 3 point seat belt into the van. I’ve struggled to get it to unlock, which I now realise is because its parked on a slight slope. It corrects and releases when parked on the level. I think the slope combined with the fact the belt has to angle back slightly, I assume to align with the shoulder loop fixing is the culprit.

Is this normal? i’m not sure if this will create a problem in the future with trapped children/car seats. Just trying to work out if its over sensitive and if I need to replace it.

Where is it fixed to the van??

I have ceiling mounted seat belts and the have a counter weight system so they only release within certain angles!!

Have you fitted the correct type for the location?

Ours do exactly the same !

Mounted on rear panel, ours where fitted by seat belt fitters.

Corrects itself when on the flat again...took a while to work that out plenty of swearing till that point.

All ok, I removed and refitted with a slightly reduced angle - just have to make sure it's parked relatively flat! It must have some kind of ball bearing that locks when angled, happened when titled either way.

Thanks
