Hi
Got my fuel tank off and checking over as was getting smell of petrol when tank full and van was on a sideways camber!
should the areas circled have a hose clip on or is it just a friction fit?
also what size is that braided fuel pipe?

Just friction fit 5.5mm pipe will do, I've just replaced all 4 pipes for mine which has removed the petrol smell. 1m of pipe is about perfect for all 4 of the tank to breather bottle hoses, using the existing rigid sections.

Rusty tank? Top surface rusts out as crud gets stuck there.....

Removing my tank at the weekend Spent an hour last night loosening the strap bolts with duck oil. Was only doing it to fit new power steering pipes but then spotted some pipes that was split and badly corroded. So they'll take it out and redoing all of it. My job list seems to be getting longer and longer.

Make sure new hose is a decent brand and R9 rated, otherwise is will rapidly fall apart again.

yeah i replaced the brake and clutch pipes while out too so know what you mean.
tanks ok as been replaced before so must be the pipes which are pretty bad - can you do the rubber stuff all the way to the breather or is it best to keep the plastic pipes in-between?
this look ok??
