Hi there,

I've recently drained and flushed my coolant after seeing the state of the stuff in there before. Its all been re filled and bled according to the guy at the garage I had take a look and advise me. Now on getting it up to temperature, the radiator doesn't seem to be getting hot at all and the temperature gauge just rises right to the top. The thermostat has all been replaced so don't think thats causing any problems. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

sounds like you have air in the system to me, was the guy you took it to familiar with the T25 cooling system, there's a bit of a knack to bleeding them properly and if he was just a general mechanic just a thought.
Have you opened the bleed screw on the top of the radiator to see if you get fresh coolant flowing out with no bubbles?

Nah the guy was not familiar with T25s
Just opened the bleed screw and there is a tiny bit of air that came out along with coolant, engine wasn't running, should I check it with the engine running ?

if he wasn't familiar with t25's then there's not a lot of chance he'll have expelled all your air. have a look at this....http://www.brick-yard.co.uk/forum/bleed ... 29710.html
and that should see you sorted well enough. personally I've always bled mine parked downhill and it seems to bleed much easier

Yes thats a good guide alright, I'll run the engine up to working temperature and then try the bleed screw, if it runs warm coolant with no bubbles then its done at the rad end
