Hi all, as title says really. Water has been getting into the cavity forward side of my near side rear wheel arch for some time. The paint was bubbling so I knew something was up. After closer investigation I made a discovery. I removed the rubber bumpstop at the bottom of the sliding door and there was a large hole the size of the bumpstop behind it. I'm thinking this is where the water was getting in?? Anyway it's knackered the panel now. I took the grinding disc to where the bubbles were and discovered several MM's of pod. Mmmm me thinks previous owner may have tried to conceal this once before. Once back to bare metal there were 3 decent holes. So it's new wheel arch time. I was going to buy one from schofields, but do not have to tools or skill to fit the new one. Can anyone recommend a body shop near Chester who could sort it for me? I thought of Jim painter, but ideally someone closer. Thanks

Yes, I was going to mention Jim Painter too. How about Muddy Fields in Warrington

I wasn't sure if Steve was into metal bashing. I may give him a call. I think he mentioned to me in the past about somewhere close to his unit. They may be just paint?? Thanks though

I am pretty sure Steve doesn't do bodywork, unless he has branched out.
There is always John Willams Autobody in Saltney, if you want a really really bad job that takes 10 times longer than he said it would and costs twice as much as he said it would.
On the other hand, I have had work done by jimpainter and would certainly recommend him

ok
Ha, am I right in thinking he's been named/shamed? Does it feel cathartic? Onwards and upwards.

I think im going to contact him. I've got to get our holiday out of the way first though otherwise the Mrs will hit the roof. Im at that point now where I can't decide whether to keep or move it on. If I get the welding done then it's for keeps. After 5 years of spending money on it I'm tempted to venture into the t5 world or have break from it all and buy myself a car.

I think Steve at gasure does welding now or he at least subs it out, he has just gave my mate a quote for some resto on his bay, also last time I was there he had a t25 autosleeper that he,d just done a resto on.
Jim Painter is good but last time I spoke to him he was very busy
