Headlamp wiring

Hi all,
1984 t25, round headlights.

I've just took out the old tnugston bulbs and replaced them with the halogan converters. However, whilst messing around, I noticed that, when the normal driving lights are on, and I flash  , both mainbeam & driving lights are on, however, when I switch just to mainbeam, the driving lights turn off.

Is this the way these work? As I cannot find a fault when I tested the wiring (and spending about an hour on it, and superglueing me fingers together, don't ask)

Thanks

Kris

I'm going to assume that when you say "normal driving lights", this is what I call " dipped headlights".

If that's right, then your headlights are working correctly - unless mine are wrong as well!

Yeah. dipped lights.

Thats a relief. I had nowhere else to go with the testing.

Thanks for looking.

In more recent months, a great deal has been added to the WIKI in terms of getting some 'real' light from round headlights including relays, upgraded wiring and fitting modern headlight units. Worth a browse. Makes a massive difference going from tungsten to halogen but the stock wiring is already maxed out and the above takes things a good deal further.

Excellent, some good work gone in there. Might be worth the work now, instead of mid winter when we remember how bad our lights are :idea
