Door lock tumbler springs

Hello. Thought I'd take my door locks off and clean the barrels and find out why I can open them with any flat bladed item ! Cleaned and freed the key tumblers but found six of the seven tumbler springs bent or broke. Any one know if it's posable to buy these springs or have I got to find second hand barrels to strip for parts.
Thanks for reading.

Care to tell me where this van is parked up? When are you next going out for the night???? Mine are the same so I'd be interested in this also.

Nope, it just doesn't use the VW locks anymore. May WIKI it in time.

I can't help with an official source, but I just measured a couple from a spare lock barrel that I have and I reckon the 1.9mm springs from this ebay advert would be pretty close. Those are:
- 1.9mm diameter, 8.9mm length, 2.5mm fully compressed, 0.15mm wire diameter.
As close as I can measure, the ones in my lock barrel are:
- 1.8mm diameter, 7mm length (no luck measuring them fully compressed, they just ping off!), and about 0.15-0.2mm wire.

A bit of a gamble as to whether they'd fit I reckon, but might be worth a go. The extra length wouldn't be a problem, but if the diameter is too wide at 1.9mm then they're not going to fit in the barrel.

Thanks for replies. It seems there's not a ready surply of these little buggers. Was thinking of getting a T4 barrel (£7 on flebay) an hoping these May fit in the t25 handle ? If not strip the springs out. Any one tried this ?
What this idea Covkid, may be keyless entry ?

Can't discuss in an open thread. Not keyless no - just a better key.

springs are part of the tumbler kit and I think there is a part number for them - another recent thread on this subject I think identified the individual parts
my spare kit of tumblers and springs went to Rich PenninsulaKid a couple of years ago and disappeared give him a prod and see if he can find the kit

Cheers Aidan. Was informed by my local vw dealer that vw have discontinued the tumbler kit and no longer available. I've got a new handle with keys coming via eBay (£14) and my plan is to swap the tumblers over so keeping my original key. I didn't realise they were that cheap. I'll give the guy that's got your tumbler kit a shout, I would be ideal to have this in reserve. Thanks. :ok

If possible, use the new barrel and key it to your keys if you can. They wear like the housings.
