T25 awning - Fiamma or Omnistor

Hello,
A friend and neighbour has an '86 T25 and has asked me to price up a side mounted awning. It looks like the options are an Omnistor 2000 (2.6m) or Fiamma F(45?) 2.6m. Could anyone comment on which might be better/easier to fit/better value and recommend a good place to purchase?

I have no experience which is best.
Try have a look in the classifieds section. There's a Fiamma F45 on there right now.

We,ve got one of the Fiamma ones - very similar to the ones fitted as an optional extra to the Westys originally, and it's really easy to set up and take down. There are a few people on here swear by ARB awnings, which are lighter and more compact on the van, but they look like they're a bit more of a task to put up and take down.

I have Omnistor 2000.
This Omnistor is pulled out by hand, while F45 is rectracted by turning the handle (as Omnistor 5000 series) Omnistor has smaller casing, so it looks better with a tintop IMO.

I was hesitating between F35 and Omnistor 2000, as The F35 is cheaper, but there was a sale at my camper shop so they were at the same price.
In the last Falle catalog there is some Dometic awning a copy of F45 which is priced close to Omnistor 2000

Have you considered an ARB awning?
I just took my Fiamma off as just about every part of it is broken due to all the catches being made of plastic. The ARM awning is not a caravan awning that is tough and made in Australia not Italy. They were designed for the 4x4 market and once the awning is fitted the add on rooms and stuff are really reasonable and very well made for the Australian environment. There was no really successful way of fitting them to a T25 until recently when we had developed a fitting kit. Take a look through the pictures in this link to get a better idea,

Are the ARB awnings in a soft bag? What is the thickness when closed up? I'm trying to find an awning that will tuck under the side opening poptop when it is closed.

The ARB isn't an awning in a bag like the caravanstore things. The cover is a HD water proof material but it is sandwiched between two aluminium sections so won't tuck under your roof. It is a gutter mounted fitting using our own CVC brackets that we have had fabricated especially for the job. If you want to sing by I can arrange a viewing if you are interested or if you want an independent report just drop Dan or any of the other people who have been buying recently.
CVC is opening its phone lines too tomorrow morning at 8.30am for the first time to take phone orders and card payments as well as the usual online orders via Paypal. Just so you know
