Howdy
Have any of you guys done a long trip through europe and had experience with what gas cylinders are the most widely available?
I currently have a Calor bottle in the camper but I gather that outside of Ireland and UK they aren't that easy to get refills.

It's just to fuel the two ring smev hob but the trip is defo going to be longer than the current gas bottle will last so I'm going to need an alternative.
I'll be in france, spain, portugal for starters

What have you guys found to be best alternative?

a refillable lpg botttle is probably your best bet.

In France a 901 is about 20 Euros for 2.75Kg of butane.

I have two campinggaz 901s in my van. Available everywhere in Europe. Take your empty one to the supermarket pick up a replacement and exchange it at the checkout in France. I never ran out in Spain, or Portugal, so I'm not sure how you exchange them there. If you are there during the Summer, why not use a Barbie like we do and eat out occasionally. That way your large Calor gas tank should last you the whole trip as it only needs to boil water for tea and coffee. I even use electric hookup to boil water so a 901 lasts me for about two years.
