Vises/vices for your home workshop

We have had the same Record #23 (fitters vise, 6" with quick release) on the workshop bench since 1960.
You cant beat a proper "Made in England" product ;)
Make sure you know your vise sizes and designation before buying, the #23 is big enough for most jobs (starters, alternators, Jag 4-speed gearbox...) and the quick release saves a lot of frantic handle winding when you have got something heavy to secure.
There seem to be a few on the bay at the moment, I have just bought another for 50 quid.
Grab yourself a bargain, money well spent!

Got my Record from a car boot for 20 quid, don't think its 6 inch from memory probably only 5 inch, quick release is a must.
The one we have at work does not have anything like the opening of my home one, worth considering that too.
