Not a brilliant photo but.

The dipstick tube goes into a bigger tube poking out of the block. Way too Loose/free movement.

What should it look like?

That's quite a bad pic, so can't really make much out.. There is no nut holding the tube into the block, undo the fixing that hold to tube to part of the engine and remove tube. You should have a washer and a rubber O ring, that's all. Yours may be missing or just need replacing, available from Brickwerks.

My non turbo cs had an oil leak where the dipstick tube entered the block just like yours, a very cheap fix, a new washer and 'O' ring cured it. It is a push fit once you have undone any other fixings that secure the tube further up (Mine was fastened to the alternator bracket) As mentioned above Brickwerks have the correct parts.

Better pictures.

All seems present, just seems a bit feeble, can't imagine wading with this setup?

That seal doesn't look right to me, mine has a washer then an 'O' ring bought from Brickwerks (dipstick Seal & Washer

£3.52 Brickwerks say..
Genuine VW O ring and washer to fit to the dipstick on T3 Diesel engines.
Washer goes on first, then seal before fitment to the block.
leave the washer out and it will leak!
No amount of sealer will stop it.
We know, we tried!

Etka shows the JX has the same as a CS just like mine

So, do you have an aaz dipstick and tube or jx? if you have used the jx one then you should have the washer and o ring as linked above.

Oh god, I don't know. Lol. As purchased. Fixing these little details one by one... Previous owner says oil is full when dipstick reads minimum... I plan to fix that when I change oil.
