NOT VW QUESTION 180 65 340 TYRES ANY IDEAS WHAT THEY FIT ?

HELP I'm at a loss can any one tell me what these tyres are supposed to fit i was told they are for a montego but have been told by a couple of ebayers they don't fit theirs so has any one here got any idea ? 180 65 340 MICHELIN TRX

I seem to recall that some of the austin/rover range had odd tyre sizes i.e the diameter was in metric as opposed to inches in the early to mid 90's so that would read as 340mm, bigger than 13 smaller than 14 inch rim. thing is
some models seem to have the metric and others the imperial.

yes it's a metric tyre for a metric rim

160 -65 - 315 were Metro
and 180 -65 -365 were maestro/montego as far as I remember from my old days at the tyre shop.
Not sure what the 340's were from.

metric tyres have a smaller extra bead more flexable the the regular bead
i've torn more than a few trying to fit them in the past :roll:

there is no way they'd fit on an imperial measure rim, even if you found one close

Have a hint of a memory of someone saying one of the Citroens had a weird tyre size, sorry I can't be more specific but it was a few years ago.
