Been searching around and can't find much about this but I will soon have 2 children & interested in getting isofix fitted to the back seat if possible. Found a thread for a bay but I have a 1990 Atlantic with 1 3 point 1 lap belt. Quick release would be ace when camping.

Quick question is would it be possible to get a prefabricated bit of metalwork that bolts (& welded) across the bottom seatbelt anchor points? Then potentially reattach the seat belts over this.

This is some preliminary investamagations so there might be a very obvious reason this can't be done. Thoughts? Ideas?

I looked at this for the front seat of our panel van. You can buy a ford isofix 'bracket' but would may need to pack it out in some way. Essentially I came to the conclusion the isofix itself is only something like 8mm steel bar welded...I didn't bother in the end as the seat wouldn't allow the isofix from the baby seat to go between the seat and back rest.

I fitted some mew focus ones, and bolted them direct to the hump behind the seat with large spreading washers on the out side. Our child seats reach no problem. I'm sure if you google focus front isofix you'll find the bits.

Scimdiesel - so this worked well did it & the R&R bed works fine etc?? - I've got another nippe on the way & can't decide if a pre-fabbed isofix would be safer / as safe as just 3 point belts retro fitted with suitable seats.

Kiddie seats and a 40 year old design of van, from a time when rear seatbelts were a bit of a novelty...
If there is any doubt in your mind over the safety of any of the options, don't do it.

Well I'm doubting all of them TBH

- I wanted to add the Iso fix AND new 3 point belts. Seems to be lots of stuff written about belts but a little light on the Isofix option. Maybe there are better kids sets that fit the belts than the one I have currently which is a bit wobbly - I think it's becaase the bit the buckle pushes into is a little long so interferes with the seat a bit - maybe new 3 point belts & more appropriate seat would solve it.

They always seem a bit wobbly on 3-point belts but for the last of our kids that was a good 6-7 years ago and in a car, not a T3 with its squidgy bench seat!

Isofix is generations later in vehicle design terms, so making it fit and work properly could be tricky.Sounds like you may have the wrong vehicle for your needs right now.

Funnily enough I bought it on my birthday & about 2 hours later the pregnancy kit showed positive!!
