Anyone fitted cruise control to a T25 with a 1.9 Gold diesel engine? Keepin it steady below it's top speed can be a problem, specially with "her" drivin!!!
What speed should you do with 175 tyres on? What's safe for the Golf engine?

175's???????
are you sure???
on 14" rims????
well the std 165 14's are generally 10% over reading so another 3% on that.. indicated 60 could be only an actual 53 most 44 ton artics are restricted to 56mph.. give or take a couple.. so pick a tescos/waitrose etc truck on the flat and see what your reading...
but the other factor is what gearbox has it got? was it a D or TD or petrol before?

The T3, or type 2(5) (the purists would have it as type 2 but that doesn't distinguish it from a bay or splitty) - has a built-in cruise control, very useful on motorways ..
The accelerator paddle is hinged at the bottom. You can rest your foot higher on the paddle with your heel off the floor & adjust the cruising speed by finding the appropriate balance point .. between the return spring & the weight of your foot ...

My 1.6 syncro has a great cruise control system for motorways. You just plant the boot to the floor and it will only ever do around 75mph! So I cant actually exceed the motorway speed limit unless I come to a downhill slope!
