Hi ,Today I`ve just bought a half decent 81 T25 Westy for €2500 , It`s a four speed Aircooled . I live in france and I`m quite pleased with the deal as the Doublevay is very good inside and good bodywork , apart from a bit chuffing from the exhaust drives very well and comfortably holds 55 to 60. around 1982 I had then a 76 type 2 1600 and this 1.9 feels no more capable than that , there`s no misfire or hesitating but can anybody tell me , should it pull a bit better and what to now look at to getting the best out of it , but I am pleased to be playing around these little Campers again and glad I`ve found your forum.

hello & welcome
well if it's '81 and Aircooled, i don't think it'd be a 1.9, possible but almost unheard of.

it'll be much more likely to be a 2.0, and if when you say it holds 55-60, then my 2.0 a/c would comfortably hold 70, if you're talking MPH.
it was poptop, and if yours is hightop then obviously it'd be slower.
maybe it's 1600?

does the engine look like the top or bottom pic?

Hi Chad
Thanks for coming back ,Question about the motor size ?, the guy that sold it to me kept saying Grand motor 2ltr , I erred cause I don`t know but I have taken a pic this morn and by the airfilter and exhaust exitting to the left it looks like your top pic ( motor CT1 ) . Where can I find engine no`s as a giveaway and should I E mail the photo to you. Also there`s a lot of chuffing from the Exhaust outside but it`s quiet inside , sounds a lot of bum smacking echoing off walls, as I remember.
