Hello all, first post, hope you can help....

Just need to spruce up my back bumper, it's looking a little tired and rusty in places...do I just use a standard metal paint for this? Appreciate any help...

Give it a rub down, a coat or two of zinc primer followed by colour of choice, so yep metal paint ok. Lots on here have used halfords satin black or halfords truck bed paint

And don't forget the metal paint in ALDI at the moment. Its a bargain price and some say better than smoothrite.

Yep I used the metal paint from aldi. Looks and uses just like any other brand and probably does the same job. Anyway, at a third of the price you can always apply 3 x more coats.

Regarding the Aldi paint, how would be best to apply? Would a good soft brush be the way to go, or a small foam roller?

I brushed it on but then again my bumpers aren't in the best condition so I wasn't too fussed about a perfect finish. I can throw some pictures up later if that helps?

Thanks jonnyb416, any pictures would be great. My bumpers are physically sound but so faded in places they are almost white!

Just sprayed my bumper's, front and rear, big fibreglass type,flatted down with 320 wet n dry sprayed with Rustolium satin black and they look fantastic.

Thanks to all, between your good selves and Aldi's bargains, my bumper is looking hot to trot!!!
