Water getting in at rear intake vent

Hi
While working at engine yesterday heard a dripping noise at rear n/s corner ( was raining very heavily ) after checking it out the corner was very wet, traced it back to a drip coming in through the air vent, I have never noticed this before, has anyone else had this problem.

Or the seal off an old freezer which has this strip under the plastic - an excellent recycling method.
