diesel gearbox mount?

I now have what I believe to be a petrol and a diesel gearbox mount.
Does anyone know why the diesel gearbox mount is different. As far as I can tell the diesel mount will lift the gearbox up by an inch or two.

diesel one is different because engine is different and sits at a diiferent place in the shell, diesel box as you note sits higher it's because of centre line of crank of engine
rear linkage rod and cup are also petrol/diesel specific, and 2wd and syncro specific as well if you are looking to buy
