I'm assuming from what you say that it wasn't this bad before? Did he actually get top dead centre right? Number 1 is front right as you look into the engine bay. Sounds very much like the timing is off to me? Did he reconnect the distributor correctly? If yours has vacuum advance make sure he reconnected it at the dizzy and the carb. Take it back!!!!

If it was running OK when it went in, and now it isn;t you should be taking it back and giving them a chance to fix it.
If they have only done the timing, then that must be whet they have done wrong. The timing mark is on the back of the fan, not the front, is not easy to find and isn't at 12 o' clock when number 1 is at TDC because the timing indicator scale is not set up to so that 12 o' clock = TDC.
Take a look at this thread
https://club8090.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.p ... 8&start=30
When setting the timing you also have to loop the idle stable stabilisation unit together and time it to 5 degrees ATDC
Having just done this on my T25 I found it easier to remove the alternator duct and fan cover when setting the timing
Hope that helps

Cheers for replies. I'm sure he said he timed it 5 dbtdc. It went in having stalling issues which hexsaid wascdown to pipes connecting carbs were split. He then reset timing as he could see no mark. When it went in it pulled really well. Now it revs okay but won't pull under load. I have to fix it on street as away tomorrow in it. Hopefully

I'm in Andover till 330. Can't believe trying to find timing gun could be so hard. Gonna have a lesson on it later when I use one for first time. Never set timing before

They all look okay to me. I did renew them all. Think there in right places. It's the right hand side carb popping
