What does this switch do?

I'm puzzled by a switch on my dash, it's top right above the fog and emergency lights switches. The switch doesn't seem to operate any lights but lights up red when switched on so it has power going to it. The switch has no markings, any ideas what it does?

Aaahhhh - the mystery switch question??!!??
Best way of finding out is to trace the wires to see where they go ..... otherwise it's pure guesswork?!?!!

But, go on, I'll have a go ....... could it be 12v power switch to the fridge???

Thanks, the PO said that the fridge is two way, hookup and gas, the fridge instructions seem to confirm that but I'll test it out tomorrow anyway. :D

For vans without a heated rear window, this position is vacant, so it's a good place to add a switch for something else. I'm repurposing a second hand fog light switch to be my radiator fan 'chicken switch'. The only way to tell if someone's done something similar in your van is to trace the wiring, as suggested.

Mine has a switch there that operates the rear interior light (the one in the centre of the roof). It only works if the switch on the actual light is "on" of course. They were fitted to Caravelle mini buses.

Its not the heated rear window as my switch for that is on the left and is factory fitted. The mystery switch is definitely after market so it's been placed in a blank, looks like I'll have to trace the wiring to see what it does...
