Think the one I used was called plasticoat. You just want a matt or silk spray compatible with plastic. They look like new when they've been done.

i painted my grills and rear vent grills also my land-rover mirrors and arms
with halfords truck bed liner spray drys to a matte finish has a rough texture but looks
exactly the same after 2 yrs you probably could give a clear gloss coat if matte not your thing

Sanded, primed and halfords Matt black sprayed. Still look great 2 years later.

Blasted my grill so that I didn't need to degrease it or rub it down. Painted it with halfords satin, 3 years later and it's still mint.
Ps. What's happening with those spacers for the big bumper brackets???

As a quick fix have a try with autoglym bumper stuff. It's good at wetting plastic wing mirrors etx to bring them back from faded grey.

I have now done it I went to my local jawels paint shop, he said as long as I use plastic primer I can use normal car spray paint, so I did satin black and they look like new.

It is probably the quickest, easiest and cheapest way of smartening up the front of the van!
Photo taken in low light so difference doesn't really show up but lower grille done upper one still to do (I used a black rustoleum plastic spray for no reason other than I had it laying around!)

My top grille had several thick layers of flaky paint painted on with a brush. Tried everything to get it off or smooth it out but even the grit blaster struggled, so after realising it would take many many hours to do it by hand with sandpaper, I bought a new grille.

Super old post I know but I used to use this on the cheap cars of my youth, can't remember how it looks anyone tried it?

My grill is perfect and original, just a little faded so reluctant to go straight for the paint!
