Bike Rack too heavy for rear door!

Hey all,
My van had a bike rack fitted by previous owners which was specific for the t25. But I struggle to get the rear door open and attempting to look in the van or get the engine hatch off is a complete nightmare! Im sure the struts have given up the ghost since the rack went on. I literally struggle to lift it up...how do people overcome this? I plan to get a bike so it would be nice to have it on there.

Thanks all Emma :)

Sounds like you need new struts.

Mine opens fine and stays up with a steel rack on and even with a kids bike on it does not take to much to open it at least to retrieve something out the back.

Buy some Weetabix! Or spinach.

You can get uprated stuts too, just watch out after fitting cos the tailgate can fly up pretty quickly
