Fuse location?

Hi

Slowly sorting our lots of stuff on my camper (Fridge now working, oil change this morning). It is a 1981 2.0L CU engine Autohomes conversion.

There are three interior lights which are not working and I think/ know they are all on the same circuit. The lights are
(1) strip light above the sink unit,
(2) a small spotlight on the rear 'wardrobe
(3) and another strip light in the high-top. (Although I do not think the high top is original to the van as the Autohomes catalogue states the hightop was introduced in 1984.

I cannot find the fuse for this lot anywhere?? Or perhaps where the earth point is?? Any clues??

Thanks

Mike

I've done a little more digging.

It seems (according to the Autohomes manual) the lights are on the same circuit as the water pump and switch. Both are fed from Fuse 7 in the main fuse box. On my camper, fuse 7 is not connected to anything? The empty connector is pretty corroded, so I don't think anything has been connected there?? (The lights did work until an indeterminate time ago, less than two years though)

The water pump and foot switch are long since gone (contacts corroded to nothing) but these are connected in parallel to the lights (according to the wiring diagram) so should not affect the lights.

So where is the wiring likely to go? I don't really want to pull apart all the interior chasing these things through. The nearest point to the battery/ fuse box is the light above the sink unit. Wires disappear into the upper part of the van - but where should they pop out? Underneath the van? Do they run above the cab and down the 'A' pillar? I need to trace this circuit and check the continuity or where it should connect?

Any hints gratefully received....

Right another update (for those who like to gloat at 'stupid' people, keep reading.....  )

Finally chased the wiring through - it goes across the top of the cab then down the nearside 'A' pillar for those who might be interested.

The wire does connect to fuse #7. My failing eyesight last night was playing tricks on me :) :) . The fridge and water pump wiring comes up the 'B' pillar on the drivers side and must hook up to the lighting circuit.

Now the embarrassment.... all the lights have failed or the switches are 'fubar'ed. There is live power getting through to all lights.

So thanks to those who have read my dilemma and marvelled at my stupidity!
