The gas tank on my westy conversion came from a 1980/81 donor vehicle I think. Can anyone help with what the ports all do? I've not filled it up yet and I assume it takes LPG?? the bayonet adapter for filling the main LPG tank fits the port with the screw cap and chain. What are the middle 2 for? The one with the red collar seems like a release valve or possibly for a bbq, not sure what the other one does between the pressure guage and the main valve to the fridge/cooker? Any ideas?

That is the same setup on my van.
The gas seems to last for ages so I don't get to fill it often and I'm still not 100% sure of correct procedure. The small outlet to the right with the red label around it I believe is a level outlet to tell you when the tank is full. I can't see the full text on your photos but if you translate it I think it says "when liquid escapes stop filling".
The last couple of times I have filled up in this country I have loosened that screw. You can hear gas escape but I guess it is restricted so not such a big leak. When the tank is full then you see the liquid gas come out and evaporate quickly. That is time to stop filling as the lpg has reached the fill level. The gauge then shows 80% or near enough.
However last time I filled up it was in Belgium. Needed help as their pump was a strange one and Flemish is not a language I can understand! At least the nozzle fitted to the filler without the need for adapters. When the attendant started the fill (from empty) then vapour shot out the level outlet. She shut the pump off straight away saying it was not right. I shut off this outlet and then let her fill again until the pump shut off. Checking the level showed it well in the red close to the max.
I believe the later tanks have a shut off valve in the filler - there is a picture of one somewhere with a float on. My reckoning is our earlier vans don't have this and use the crude level outlet to tell you when to stop filling. Just hope nobody is smoking nearly. I don't know how to explain what happened in Belgium though.
Hope someone else can come along with a second opinion though. I don't know what is more dangerous - overfilling or venting the lpg to atmosphere while filling.
As for the other connection in the centre. I believe that is the safety valve and does not need touching.

Thanks for that. We have a BBQ that we use so like you the gas tank lasts for ages. I'll fill up carefully when the time comes.
Cheers
