Do any of you have electric seats with swivel bases? Does the wire come loose when you rotate the base?
I've just had some electric seats fitted to the van and was going to get a swivel base installed. The base i bought was a vw one and isn't compatible with the porsche seats i have, so i believe i need a universal swivel base. Don't want to go to the hassle of getting one (any ideas where from?) if it won't work with electric seats....

what do you reckon? any of you overcome this problem?

No experience with swivel seats (mine are still in the shed!!!!)

How many wires go to the seats? I'd use the streatchy cable from some mains extension leads (OK up to 13A)
or this kettle lead.



Double up the conductors for higher current carrying capacity.

they are comfy, but not heated, just need electric to adjust them. I'm now thinking i will just adjust the seat to a comfy position and then unplug them so i can use swivel base.....

Kathy, depends on which seat swivel thingines you have, are they the type with a dirty great bolt welded in the middle?
if they were mine I would drill down the centre of the bolt and run a couple of wires down through the hole.
It's not like your going to go spinning around and around, it's going to move 180 degrees, and back, 180, and back so just normal wire would be fine, run wires in PVC sleeving for a bit extra insulation.

I have to get a new swivel base as the one i got was a vw one which is no good for the seats. Not really sure where to get a universal one from though, any ideas?
