Hi guys, first things first.1980 cu with automatic box and mechanical fuel pump. Van drives really well on level roads but as soon as I hit any hill it struggles to the point of chocking even when I use kickdown to a lower gear.i am thinking of the rod in the oump as next step.is this fairly easy to do ?
Any other ideas would be great to hear.thanks.

maybe a general tune up, replacement of the cheap bits, dizzy cap, rotor arm, leads and plugs, belts first, with a compression test after if no improvement..... cheap tool and easy to do or 5 min job for a good garage.

I have found especially with aftermarket service parts, they only last for a short time over originals or very good aftermarket.

all the best
