I would like to install one of these (or something like it) in to my dash.

Thing is, I'm not the greatest with electrics, and I'm not sure how you would wire this up. Can anyone help?
Has anyone else installed these? Are they up to the task?

Red to a live part of the fusebox, black to chassis. It won't be more complicated than that.

Not quite that basic! What I meant was - do you link the units together, live to live, earth to earth, or should they each have their own feed?

Join them to one power source - a permanently live one, unless you want the unit (or part of it) to only work when ignition is on. Live to live etc. The battery voltage indicator is up to you - you might want to switch that on or off although I suspect it won't draw much anyway.
In the end it will come down to how you envisage using each rather than someone elses view.

And you might like to check the accuracy of the voltmeter against a known good multimeter. I have seen some that are over 1/2 a volt out, and 1/2 a volt is quite a bit when considering charging voltages and minimum leisure battery voltage. On that subject, consider connecting the voltmeter to your leisure battery +ve as it is far more important to know it's state of charge than the main battery

Remember, if doing that <<< fit an in-line fuse in the feed wire, close to the leisure battery. 3 or 5 amps will be more than enough as the voltmeter will draw very little current (one hopes).

I have fitted these to my leisure battery, not sure how good the volt meter is, will try and check this weekend. I did wire it in via a switch so I can turn them off when not using them as the led are very bright at night, they are also drawing a slight bit of power.

I checked the digi voltmeter with a hand held meter today and they were spot on, digi Ebay meter was 13.2, hand held was 13.15; the digi meter is only to one decimal place. I am happy with that.
