New to this forum. Going to have a bash at tarting my 1979 T25 up. I will share a few of the bits and pieces I do on here. Any advice would be much appreciated. Going to try the rustoleum roller paint job, but that's a long way off. Hopefully I am making the right decision in doing it myself, but at the moment it's all seeming a bit daunting.
I will try and put a few pictures up if I can work out how to do it!
Anyhow wish me luck I am going to need it.

So I have found a replacement door after an eternity of looking on eBay. This turned out to be a bargain picked it up for £112 delivered and it is in really good nick. Just looking for the other side door now.

This is just a small bit of what I am up against. It is in a bit of a pickle around the fuel pipe. Where it is cut on the arch , it is solid right around to the step so I am thinking of just cutting the new panel in this section. Is this an acceptable way or should I cut the whole of the arch away?

If the original metal work is in good condition, keep as much of it as you can. Might be worth you trying to get body cuts rather than full replacement panels .

Cheers Daz, already bought the panel so I will cut that up but will bear your advice in mind. There are a couple of places which need patching up on the bulkhead inside the arch.As these panels cannot be purchased I will have to cut them from a sheet. What gauge metal should I use?

Have a quick look at lankavan yours will be the same on b post/jp

Petrol filler tends to get clogged with mud behind and it all sits there, eventually rusting it out. I've got this job to do on mine but never figured out a safe way to do it without removing tank.

agree, tank out is quick enough though and you get a chance to do all those other little jobs under there

Yes what a great opportunity!

Reading quite a lot about blasters being used on the seams. Could somebody enlighten me please on what machine to buy. I have a compressor (I assume they work on air) thanks in advance

They make a heck of a mess (i.e. grit everywhere) but they do a good job on the rust.
I have one like this...

but that ebay one has a better nozzle setup than mine.
You'll need a big enough compressor - mine is 3hp with 200l tank and works ok but you have to stop and let the compressor catch up every minute or so.
Try and get your hands on crushed glass rather than sand.

Some people use the recirculating spot blasters but I don't know anything about them.
