Hey,

So I am close to re installing my interior and am looking at cheap ways of insulating the van. What with the loads of other bills it is one I am trying to reduce if poss.

So I saw these in tesco:

http://www.tesco.com/direct/tesco-insul ... 2-6621.prd" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

They are the exercise mates and the spiel says "insulated roll mat" and "180x50cm, 0.5cm thick, insulated lightweight camping mat" with the tin foil stuff on one side. They are 3 for £10. What do you guys think? I was thinking maybe 6 or 9 would suffice with some of that tape stuff. Would then only be £20-30.

Anyone tried them?

Cheers
Josh

Ive been thinking about it too. But, I've just been away for long weekend in my '84 Caravelle, the head lining is padded already and I just used JK's window silver screens. We found this was more than sufficient to keep us warm at night. Some sound deadening - maybe for the drive down but, like the factory fitted pads you find behind the door trim panels is all I 'might' do. Hope this helps.

Was in a similar situation recently, am doing an interior refit and plan a resto in a couple of years so didn't want all my insulation work to be wasted!!

So decided to line all the backsides of the panels with foil bubble and do the same for the high top! So basically its 3mm ply with insulation one side and carpet the other! Foil will act as a vapour also! For the floor I have done the same but added a layer of sound dead sheet, all can be removed when required with no damage waste!

Did a lot of research on the insulation and as it reflects heat it's more about maximising surface area, easily achieved by lining panels!

Obviously there are areas not insulated but some is better than none!!

That looks perfect mate....it is important to use something that doesn't absorb moisture, which this doesn't.

:ok
