Epco trolley jack repairs?

I have one of these big orange garage jacks (2ton) and whilst it pumps up ok it, the jack very slowly bleeds off under load. I guess that the seals in the ram are now worn out, or could it be the bleed screw seating? Anyone got experience of these? It is otherwise a good tool and worth saving.

Probably nothing more than a lip seal and/or an O ring. It doesnt leak, just wont...er... stay up

Probably needs a top up of hydraulic fluid and bleeding.

Think its worse than that. It will lift the bus but stop pumping and it slowly sinks. Full lift still attainable but I have to be quick with the axle stands... currently using a Weber high lift one to stay safe, which is nice but not the same.
I also have an EPCO garage crane but thats out on loan because I dont have the space...

Hi. Although I've only had experience with enerpac hydraulic jacks through work etc they will work through the same principle.

If it's doing what you say first port of call would be hydraulic oil levels and a check of bleed screws etc. Then you are into o rings or seal configuration between 'ram and chamber' assembly. Depending on how it is done. Decent companies will have a maintenance seal kit or at least a dealer/franchise that will over haul and repair them....... Or even push you in the right direction.

I've a bit of a penchant for Ennerpac kit, what is it you do that utilises them?

I'm a mechanical engineer, work in heavy engineering/machine installation area, so using them for mounting/un mounting bearings etc.

Torque setting nuts/super nuts/castle bolts/shcs.

Also use 'simple' jacks for lifting and shifting large lumps of machinery, we are talking 40t+ kind of tackle.

From experience I'd say they are one of the best for the money.

Hi Everybody. I have an old Epco, Model 65 Trolley Jack of 1970 Vintage that I have had since new and it works fine, except that it loses fluid from around the seal at the the top of the pump up piston! I have had an absolute nightmare trying to locate the seals that would rectify this leak, being a small white nylon curly seal that goes around the piston, and the top seal!
Twice I have received a kit from a firm called Zoro, and both times it is nothing like what I require!
Can anybody suggest where I could obtain the correct seals to rectify this problem?
