Poor blower output.

Hi all
I installed a new heater blower last week and since i installed it when i have it on there is no air blowing through the vents. When i am driving there is heated air coming in no hassle, but when stationary there is nothing at all. I took it all back apart to make sure the blower was seated properly and it was as there is only one way it would sit and allow the case to be closed. I can here the blower when i turn it on and hear it change speed when i toggle the speed switch but just nothing coming through at all. Any ideas?
Thanks in advance.

The hoses did get reconnected didn't they...
If so I wonder if its running in reverse.

I did read (on here) that some of the new ones out there had the wires a*** about tit. Try swapping the feed wires around (can you get at them without taking the dash apart? It's so long since i did mine I can't remember

. Fingers crossed for you).

Aaah!
I'll have to watch out for this, I've just received at new blower to install on the weekend.
The box is already out and has been split apart (that was fun as it was glued together).
I'll test the flow direction before fitting the thing.

Hey thanks for all your responses. Ya the hoses were all reconnected back up.
I thought as much that it was the polarity but when I changed that around the other way it just blows the fuse. No such luck as easy access though lol

Try putting the blower on full and walking round thr front of the van and try to feel if there is any air flowing out of the top grill at the top in the middle

Ummm, not that I have had that problem myself with mine (luckily) but the one (or more) I read on here said they reversed the wires. I cannot remember if the terminal that is supposed to be -ve is connected to any actual earth though. I suspect not, and that it simply goes to the motors coil windings. If I am right (and I may not be) then it shouldn't blow fuses either way round. But remember, I might be wrong and one side of the motor windings
might be earthed to the motor body, and thence to the vehicle body. Your meter will tell you.
E D I T = unless you have accidentally trapped and damaged a wire somewhere and it is making contact with the bodywork.

Trapped earth wire would explain the fuse blowing on polarity reversal, also something else is sharing that earth wire somewhere along its course to the heater blower.
