JX 1.6TD Engine Thermostat Replacement

Hi all,

I have searched for this and checked the wiki, but couldn't find anything specific to the JX so apologies if this is somewhere else.

I'm about to change the thermostat on my JX engine this weekend which is pretty straightforward, but before I start I just wanted to check with the guru's on here if there's anything I should be aware/wary of while doing this, or is it as 'normal' as most engines.

I'm thinking especially about any tricks when re-filling the coolant and getting all the air out - I've read that you need to hold the revs up for a little while to get the coolant properly moving and shift any air - is this right?

Thanks.

Replacement is straightforward as long as the retaining bolts undo ok. I always struggle to bleed the air out of the system afterwards though. Took a trip up a very steep hill (the Burway at Church Stretton) to get the last air pockets out, bit far from Epping for you though

Thanks for that, I'll be careful with the retaining bolts then just in case - I live on quite a steep hill so a few blasts up that might do the trick :D
