New fuel pump/lines

Hi just received a new fuel pump from just kampers for my 1.9 petrol watercooled van. The fuel inlet nozzle on pump is bigger than on the pump i removed so fuel line does not fit back on. Does anybody know what size fuel line is best to order/fit and should i run it all way to filter as old line runs just past engine compartment to another smaller pipe?
