jx fuel filtervalve arrow direction

Hi i am replacing the thermo valve on my fuel filter and have taken it of and then noticed it has a small arrow on it.am i right in thinking it faces back to filter/fuel tank??...just want to get it right

Yes it's the direction of flow

new aftermarket valve does not fit its 3ml longer
