Zig unit/split charge/battery charger

Evening
I have a zig unit fitted and I've been undoing a few miles of wiring using an old split charge relay triggered by the alternator.
I've got a new durite 'intelligent' relay and battery charger to fit and I want to know if I can bypass the battery charger function of the zig unit in favour of the new one, and the durite split charge relay. Using zig only to control 240v and the fridge?
Thanks.
