Dropped the van off this morning for the remanufActured aaz engine to be installed. Exciting times.

Pondering a syncro sports dash replacement to I with it. Hope to post some progress pics here later in the week.

So it begins. Whilst it's on the ramp had a good look underneath. Quite a bit of surface rust, may have to shot blast and treat some of it. Image

Of course the new engine is painted and clean at least

Who's doing the work?
Where is the engine sourced from/ re manufactured by?

I had the engine remanufactered by Engine Power in Coventry, got the engine and all bits last year from a VW garage who was breaking a golf (can find the details if you want). It was running ok in and I drove the car. I've had to have the turbo refurbed too as it was seeping. I could have had a more basic recon but figured it should be the last engine I need in the bus so went the whole hog.

The fit is being done by my Dad who works at Engine Power but it is his first refit of a T25 with an AAZ. The majority of their work is fire sprinkler engines and big trucks not vw's.

Van is back home and the AAZ is running nicely. The top speed is going to be exactly the same I realise that as I have kept the 1.6d gearbox but its a lot nippier and even a little quiter.

Only thing left now is the fuel gauge not working properly.
