Battery woes - avoid this ebay seller

I ordered this battery http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/New-Genuine-O ... 232380774? External Dimensions in mm - L278 , W 175, H 175 mm - Great I thought...

It arrived nice and quick but when I opened the box it wasn't what I ordered... the seller had kindly "upgraded me to a superior battery" (as a one-off Xmas special - in February!) - same manufacturer but has a state of charge Magic Eye indicator.
Anyway, it looked too tall as soon as I took it out of the box and yes, when I measured it it's about 200mm tall! So utterly useless.

I've kindly suggested that he contact his customers before "upgrading" them to make sure the upgrade is actually suitable - however his ebay autoreply is saying he's away and I can expect a response after Feb 27th... Grrrr!

Can't be bothered with this sort of seller - Daljinder Bains - Autocarpartsrus

Admin please move if this is in wrong section - my judgement is being clouded by a strange red mist!!!

I should have checked his actual feedback - saw 99.7% positive feedback from 14500+ transactions and just assumed that meant he was legit. Not the case, he has 23 negatives and 25 neutrals in the past 12 months - Lesson learned for me!

Raise a dispute immediately - his feedback tells you all you need to know!

er no offence mate their feedback is outstanding !
think you are being a bit sensitive

But I do agree with you they should have sent what you asked for I'm sure if you emailed them they would rectify the problem.

Don't buy basic stuff on e-bay. It's a mugs game. Plenty of safe alternatives!

Their negative feedback comments suggest otherwise...

Pardon my dimness, but how is 23 negatives 'outstanding'??

they have over 14500+ transactions feedback ! 23 negs is nothing over a year for a business...your local supermarket will get that amount of disgruntled customers in a few days...

I must say I don't think many businesses would be disappointed with 23 negatives in 14500 transactions.

His negatives are mostly about the sending of different battery to the listed one, same goes for the neutral ones. That isn't outstanding - it is dubious selling practice. There is the lack of responding to messages contained therein also. I wouldn't like to see these comments in my feedback ( mine is 100% with above average performance level)
A consistent dribble of negative and neutral on the same theme indicates poor customer relations to me, not outstanding.

So how is that seller's feedback 'outstanding' then? It certainly would put me off buying from him. The feedback positive or negative is all you have to judge the performance of a seller so why ignore the negatives when they are mainly on the same theme?

in a year they get 23 peed off customers that leave bad feedback but 8018 positives from happy customers in the same year... says it all really.

in one month 942 positive and 4 negs !

as I said originally should have sent what you ordered ...but then again I wouldn't buy a battery from eBay !

1 month 6 months 12 months
Positive feedback rating Positive 942 4664 8018
Neutral feedback rating Neutral 5 18 25
Negative feedback rating Negative 4 20 23

I've ordered from him, perfectly happy but he did provide what I asked for. However I agree, seller should notify you if item supplied is not the same otherwise it is 'not as described'. Cheap enough though and they are good batteries - use it as a spare. Euro Car Parts often not much more when they have an offer on. Its just awkward on a T25 because of limitations of battery box and seat - rarely an issue on other vehicles.

Avoid this ebay seller is a bit harsh
small lack of communication on your behalf
you should have told him it was very impotant, his dimensions are correct because its to fit in your space.
im sure your pissed off
take a chill pill there is a reason for everything.
