Clutch Slave Cylinder Replacement - any helpful tricks?

I need to replace the clutch slave cylinder. Mine is air cooled T25 so there is a cover to remove at the bulkhead which will allow access to the mounting bolts from above. The screws in the cover seem to be well rusted up and I don't want to damage it. It looks like it could be replaced from below but seems a bit fiddly.
Anyone done it this way before? (The nuts and studs are well rusted and I'm not sure I can get enough purchase accessing from underneath.)

Soak them in plusgas at least a day before you start (not WD40)
