I saw a show the other night that had these guys swapping out a carb on a corvette stingray and bolt on a fuel injector. the kit was supplied by Edelbroke and the show was in the USA. Still it got me wondering if there was a kit that was compatible for 1.9 Pierburgs 2E2's
From what i saw it was a simple swap out with minimal set up afterwards, almost "plug-N play"
Would this be different from a digijet set up or easily swapped?
Thoughts?

all you need is the injection gubbins from a DJ 2.1i

I know the 2.1 takes a carb so I would imagine the 1.9 will take the injection off it.
The heads are the same.

Alternatively you could ship a system over from the states. loads of them there.

I was offered this kit the other day. Frightens me to death as I know nowt about them.

What do you know about the process? Is it a lot of work or extras that need to be changed? I don;t know anything about the digijet-never seen one up close like. what about fuel return lines or pressure regulators? My big hang up would be the wiring and set up as it's not my strong point to say the least

I'm sure it wouldn't take much research to collect all the information.
The 1.9 and 2.1 are practically identical engines... just different stroke and valve timing on a 2.1
I would be interested in knowing what you need as well.
I doubt the parts would be hard to come by either.

It would be far easier to fit a 2.1 and use your carb set up on that!

fitted one of kits to me split when i had it. spot on bit of kit.

Injection is undeniably far more efficient and precise than a carb. If you have access to the software, it's far easier to adjust the fuelling.

Yes, you can strap-on the injection from a DJ - but, just as a 1.9 carb won't be quite right for a 2.1, so a 2.1 injection won't be quite right for a 1.9. If you're wanting to inject a carb'd engine, then I'd be looking into megasquirt or similar - much more flexible, and much easier to get properly set up. Yes, there's a learning curve - of course there is - but there's a learning curve in maintaining and fixing injection properly anyway.

I doubt I would now becuase I've only just replaced the engine a year ago, but if i'd known this then I would have looked for a 2.1
Still an interesting thought though.
