The bottom nut holding the rear shock to the trailing arm is totally mangled so I need to cut it off. That's no problem (will take 2 secs with a hacksaw) however, I can't find anywhere that tells me what size bolt and nut to order to replace the mangled one! All Bentley tells me is the torque, and brickwerks don't sell them separately any more. Can anyone help?

It's for a syncro petrol if that matters.

you probably can, i just gave you the numbers in case you wanted them. I guess you'll just have to make sure its high tensile

Found a high tensile bolt that is the correct size, but I'm now flapping about trying to get a nut. Problem with London is that in its constant quest to modernise it's killed out all the old family hardware shops! Without a 30 minute drive I have nowhere to buy these things and ask these questions

This is why I love Ebay for this type of thing (as long as you don't need it "same day" of course). No driving all over the place in frustrating traffic, no phoning around, just order from the comfort of home and get it delivered to your door Mind you, would still have needed to ask on here for the size, but that's one of the benefits of forums. Likely too late I know, but Ebay has plenty of choice HERE

No, thats great! I had been trying to find something on ebay but not being able to find a set. That left me not knowing what nut to get! Thanks for the link!

Generally that's the case, but not in this instance. We have one of the best fixings shops I've seen within striking distance - Clerkenwell Screws.

You do know about Clerkenwell Screws don't you...???

Ckerkenwell? Ive got to pay to go there! I do know one mom & pop hardware shop which is in Bakers Arms, Walthamstow but I'd still be lost!

The one on brickwerks is to hold the trailing arm to the van. They don't do the one I need.

I still heartily recommend Clerkenwell Screws. Just get on your bike - no congestion charge then!
