Answer: According to Autoglass it's 25 minutes, that's how much time staff are allowed to remove the old one and fit a new one.

Or if you are National Windscreens about 3 hours mainly because they brought one for an LT so they had to go back and get the right one :)

He said that some rubbers are so bad (I think he mentioned Leyland Daf) that the screens often break trying to get them one. He also said that two/three year old Discoveries often have more rust in the corners than my van. (which was in pretty good nick just a bit of surface rust).

Chances of breaking the glass putting it back with a JK seal = high + could take an hour
Chances of breaking the glass with a good quality seal = extraordinarily low + takes 20 mins

Done this numerous times.

once new seal is on screen then our best is 50 seconds give or take a few ,removal less, the time is taken fitting seal to glass and cleaning crud from aperture 5 mins normal maybe ten, so 20 mins commercially is fine and will include a cuppa

Its gonna take them longer. It wasn't fitted properly and the RH corner is filling with water so they're coming back to do it properly

I had a new screen fitted by Autoglass about 7 years ago.
He put the old rubber back - said that is standard practice. He did give me a tube of black sealant, just in case it leaked.
I was disappointed - but it hasn't leaked since.
Job took about 15 minutes.
