Hi all, my auto box on a 1980 cu engine is having a bad day, it seems that the cick down won't work and it no longer changes down when hill climbing.changes up with no problems. Any ideas ?

Sorry, can't help but you're not alone. I've got the same thing, changes up at 40, which is a bit hairy joining a motorway and like yours doesn't change down on a hill. I also find that on cold days mine takes a few seconds for the autobox to work properly, if I try to drive immediately it almost feels like a slipping clutch, been like this for three years and hasn't got any worse.

John you can adjustthe kick down by the rod that goes to the the throttle linkage, lengthening the rod will give you an earlier kickdown, you need to check why its stopped working though, fluid level ok? throttle cable stretched? linkage at gearbox come adrift or seized?
