Anyone (syncroandy........

) know part number of new pins for multiplug ? going to remake one of mine as the pins have donw there usual and a few legs are bent up, they can be straightened to some effect with a darning needle but might aswell do it properly.

Well.. that's about the only T3 terminal for which I've not found a sensible replacement, the only 'new' replacement I know of is the VW repair wire, which is a ~50cm bit of yellow wire with a terminal on each end, pn. 000 979 102 E, but it's a silly price for two terminals.
You might be better off trying to find a 1/2 decent used pigtail of wire off a Mk1 Golf, Polo etc or another T3 that's not been abused.

I became so fed up with the connector I just hard wired the whole dash (basically copying existing layout on membrane) and terminated it with a PC motherboard plug (the big one). Maplins do them as a plug and socket luckily. I figured there was a LOT more of those around than the original VW ones so what the hell. I kept the order of wires as far as possible plus there were then extras - great if you add additional items to dash.
Not the simplest solution but certainly the most permanent.

Yes, if going the hardwire route, any suitable multiway plug/socket could be used. Personally I would just dive into the parts bin and come out with some sort of AMP junior-power-timer connector off an old VW harness. However IMO that'd be just flogging a dead horse, much better to upgrade to a 'modern' VDO dash... (I had to say that really

You'd have to be a bit retentive to want to order them though. You can't even see the thing.

Not sure I get your drift chap. If you want to start calling people names may I suggest you take that offline ?

As I said, still available (or it was ~a year ago when I ordered this), but at a few quid its not a sensible option and couldn't recommend it:

Who? what? I'm referring to the plug. Once is in you can't even see it, hence switching to something you can pick up almost anywhere. Seems a right faff to be messing with individual pins.

Can you remember how much they were Andy?
Kind of thinking if I've got to solder a new plug on from a good used loom, might aswell go for broke.
(Got the relays etc today aswell cheers chap

I think they were around £2.50 PER WIRE, that was a while ago though. They may also be 'order multiple 5' so in theory they may insist on selling you 5. Frustrating as the bare terminal should only be a few pence. If you've not seen it this page is quite useful (though doesn't include the terminal you're after):

Shame they're not dupont ones as they really ARE cheap:
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/P4PM-200pcs-M ... 461b691416" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; - £1.13 for 200 of them!
Surely VW didn't make those pins themselves though.

The name of VW's OEM for a lot of their connectors, and some useful part numbers, are linked in my previous message. Well, useful to anyone who might need to 'faff' with individual 'pins'..
