Hi Im Scott from Bristol,

I couldn't see a "Your Ride" or "Your Projects" ect section of the forum so I thought I would post here instead.

Sometime after summer I bought my first van and first Aircooled VW, after selling my 1978 Mk1 Golf.
I bought myself a 1983 A reg panel van;

It has long MOT, seems pretty straight and honest, the only issue ive had so far is accelerator cable snapped *touch wood*
At some point in the last 3 - 5 years its been resprayed in what I think is called "Brilliant Orange", which was the factory colour as its orange inside too,
It had a home built very basic camping interior; ikea pull out bed on raised platform taking up 3/4 of floor space, and some old kitchen unit with gas hob and sink.
Week after buying the van we took it out for a 1 nighter to see how we got on;

We didn't really get on with the layout, so ive stripped the van out and going to re do the interior;

I don't really have a plan, im just doing bits as I go along, kinda making it up step by step lol. All I know is im not putting windows in it :)
First thing I done was buy a R&R bed advertised as being from a T25, the guy had modded it to fit a T4, so I bought that as it was local, looks like it was actually a T2 westy bed,

Then I made up a storage/raised area over the engine to make the back bit of the bed

Gonna change it about for 2016 again.

Change R&R Bed from 3/4 to full
Get rid of the cabinet with sink and cooker as never use it
Install; - Propex Heater
Leisure Battery
Get some solar panels

Yes: Full width bed, yes; ditch sink & cooker; we mostly wash up on last day outside and only cook up a bit of bacon outside in the morning, who wants all that grease in the van? (try a sealey toolbox as a kitchenette). A leisure battery, yes. Will keep two iPhones charged for a week +. How much power do you need, wouldn't bother with solar...you don't get much power off them, leisure battery sufficient. Remember short 175mm height battery will fit under passenger seat only. Image

p.s. I sold my Mk1 too ;)

Check this guy out for door cards, he's not grumpy, just respect the words in his website premise. http://www.partsemporium.co.uk" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
