How easy is it to replace an accelerator cable, or is it best for a garage to replace it?

Well, done it. just bought inner cable, and threaded it through. fiddly bit was the nut at the front end, 8 mil spanner in a very small gap. Took about 2 hours, including jacking up and putting on axle stands.
