Hey there I'm havin trouble with my manifold the top bolt has sheared off and not sure what to do engine keeps conking out when I come off the revs due to the manifold being loose

any help would be greatly appreciated

with any stud you have a number of options from welding a nut on ( best) to drilling it out and helicoiling it.

depending upon engine drilling can be hard to get access with engine in place,.

Yeah its the top bolt its sheared off in the engine bit so the gas is leaking out stopping it from idling its a 1.9 dg engine

How did you get on with this?
Same has happened to mine and just failed it's mot on Friday due to "major leak of exhaust gases".
Only a small part of my stud remains in the hole though.
Passed on everything else which is good.

I snapped about 8 bolts doing the water pump side head seal, ended up just tapping them bc I couldn't be arsed fannying around with it, wasn't too big an ordeal, I'd never done it before, worked a treat
